"DANG IT!"
(inserts quarters)

Off season remixes are how I trick my brain into thinking it isn't boiling out during the Summer time, so thanks for this icy tune. :P

A good combination of being faithful to the original and adding some spice with the new synths. Good stuff!

HoboKa responds:

Thanks for leaving a comment! My remixes don't get enough love at NG >.<

Some good stuff. :)

This one has some nice smooth flow to it, even starts to sound tropical at some parts, but that's likely from the type of instruments and/or skeleton bones you used.

Whimsical and goofy, I would definitely try to avoid getting spooked by skeletons while this was playing. :P

ScottJacob responds:

Well perhaps if i assured them no skeletons were harmed in the making of this song they'll be cool lol

I like this, has some swamp-y charm to it while also sounding like a street carnival. :P

ScottJacob responds:

Thank you! I wanted to give a New Orlean Boogie flavor too it. I'm glad you liked it :)

It's the happy carnival marching theme! : D

ScottJacob responds:

Yeah! i like that comparison, nice one. It's definitely made to be fun and upbeat

Nice and floaty, in a good way of course!
Gets the mood of the sheer height of the tower and the clouds hovering and passing by.

In terms of repetition, it's mostly the piano loop that starts low and rises as it repeats that is the thing that stays the same throughout the song. The different synths, singing voices and sweeps keep the song nice and fresh as it goes on.

Same time though, once the song gets to the 3 minute mark the song enters a different stage and a different piano arrives, so then you have some extra variety to make some completely distinct parts of the song.

The only thing I'd say could use some reworking might be the intro, depending on the circumstance the song is used of course.
It starts off slow, with only the wave/water noises before the synth shows up a little bit later. In a video game sense, that'd be where the location name shows up on screen before the player resumes control of the character they are playing.
In a non-video-game sense, the intro is just a little bit too slow when compared to the rest of the other buildups of the song.

Purely my own personal preferences though, nothing outright objectively wrong with the intro of course. haha

Only other thing I could ask about is how there are wave/water noises at the intro and outro, but nowhere else. My best guess is that it was to set a soundtrack to a movie/game mood, and playing it all throughout in the song itself might irritate the listener if they weren't looking at the water causing the noise if they weren't playing a game or watching a movie.

If the waves were in the song for actual instrumentation, I'd say throwing in a few more instances of it would suit the world-building for the song just a bit more.

Other than that, no complaints.
Keep it up!

AlbeGian responds:

Thanks a lot for your review!! I considered that given the big amount of sounds present in crucial parts of the song such as the climax-esque part (around 2:15-3:00) and probably the previous part as well, adding the sfx on top of all of that would've been a bit too much I think. But I get what you mean, I'll try to be more consistent with the world-building and presentation in the future, thanks for the advice! (P.D.: the water/wave-sounding sfx are actually slightly time-stretched recordings of strong winds, guess I picked the wrong sound xP hahah)

Gotta pay for the intergalactic spaceship somehow, so why not a coffee shop? :P

An adorable sounding song for an area, the kind of thing you'd hear in a Playstation or a Wii game while in a menu. This song is nice and fleshed out with lots of drastically and mildly altered parts, so it doesn't have the repetition issues a few of your loops have had in the past.

Keep it up!

I am now fully prepared for mountain shenanigans, involving BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
Minecart chases, snow tubing, wildlife chases, regular chases, avalanches, hoodwinks, and general chaos. :P

I lack the musical knowledge and terminology to fully explain the differences, but this rendition does sound a bit more crisp. That said, I enjoy both versions, kinda like one sundae having sprinkles and the other has chocolate sauce. :)

Listening to them both, some of the faint background synths and drones have been brought a bit closer to the front so they can be heard better, and the piano meshes nicely with the breakbeat.

An interesting experiment, glad it worked out well! :D

Noisysundae responds:

"If you have it with a pair of headphones, there won't be much difference aside a bit quieter bass and a bit less reverb in some instruments. In mono, on the other hand, it's entirely different. I uploaded a quick comparison here. https://youtu.be/gy58TFJpKMw" — The Manager
