And in regards to the description, there's probably a difference from 'outgrowing a phase' and, 'making a ton of mods in a row and needing a break to draw something else'. :P

The fact you've been making Mod after Mod, you're in deeper than someone just playing the game. Play testing, building everything from scratch takes a lot of time and effort, and it all shows in the quality.

Even times where I was obsessed with one game (COUGH, ROGUE LEGACY), I was playing other games at the same time. So after kicking back for a while, you might be more inclined to draw more fanart or casually enjoy the game if you still care enough about it.

The game obviously is a source of joy for ya, so do what comes naturally and don't force anything my dude. :)
